Fitness, fashion and making activewear more inclusive

With disabled adults in the UK almost twice as likely as non-disabled people to be physically inactive(Official Sport England), Dr. Bryna Chrismas, founder of Ran By Nature is on a mission make activewear that takes all bodies into consideration.

Aspirational athleisure brands seem to be everywhere, but how many consider, let alone offer solutions that can make their clothing accessible for everyone. Ran By Nature truly is a brand that lives and breathes accessibility and inclusivity - from each and every one of their custom-made-to order products, to their tagline “leaving no body on the bench”, and their Ran By Nature Club that’s focusing on positive change in the sport and exercise industry. As Bryna says “Specifically within activewear and athleisure, clothing can be a barrier to engaging in exercise” and this in turn can contribute to large numbers of people being excluded from sport and fitness.

The garments, which run in sizes XXS to 4XL, are designed to be seasonless and functional and the collection includes leggings and tops designed in collaboration with disabled people from the Ran By Nature community. We especially like the high-waisted leggings - super comfortable and available with custom length and personalization.

Ran By Nature creates all their activewear sustainability with small batch production in the UK. The garments are made from certified recycled fabrics, and organic threads, and any elastic used is biodegradable and plastic free. Their zips are made from recycled plastic bottles, and all fabric scraps are saved so there’s minimal waste. And it all comes in recyclable and biodegradable packaging, including dissolvable product bags and seeded delivery slips, and sent using carbon neutral shipping. Plus 10% of profits go towards a chosen charity.
